Agni Yoga written by Helena and Nicholas Roerich’s makes reference to the color RED as being Maitreya’s symbolic color. Being the color of blood, RED manifests the UNITY that, despite all our differences unite us, since we all have the same color of blood. The meaning of RED is as multifaceted as it's tints are. For example, in Hinduism RED represents purity and sensuality.
The color RED is also the color of the first, or root chakra, the chakra of life or sexual chakra – the Muladhara chakra. This Kundalini energy resides at the base of the spine, a spiral of force known as The Fire Of The Spirit. Raising the Kundalini up the spine and through the crown chakra creates a state of absolute consciousness. In this state of awareness, there are no polarities and therefore no more sorrows. There is only everlasting joy and unconditional love. Awakening the Kundalini for the purpose of activating all other chakras, is one of Maitreya's/World Master's primary works.

The word "Avatar" अवतार is a Sanskrit word, meaning literally "coming down from far away." “In Hinduism it is a deliberate descent of a deity to earth, or a descent of the Supreme Being”(Wikipedia) The most well-known Avatars are the Buddha and the Christ.
